Preparation
- Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions; do not overcook.
- In a skillet, brown the Italian sausage until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in spaghetti sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Mix the Filling
- In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- Fold in one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Combine and Bake
- Mix cooked pasta with the meat sauce and creamy cheese mixture.
- Transfer to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the pasta and make sure to drain the sausage thoroughly. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
